What MCP Server Kit does

MCP Server Kit turns an existing REST API or JSON data into an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients can call your product. You describe the sources in one config file; the kit produces the tools and runs the server. It is built on the official MCP SDK.

Setup

Up and running in 3 steps

Install,Run npm install, then npx mcp-kit init to write a starter config and a sample products.json.
Configure,Point the config at your OpenAPI document or JSON file.
Serve,Set MCP_API_KEYS and run npx mcp-kit serve. The endpoint is http://localhost:3000/mcp.

No. Tools come from one config file.

How is it delivered?

After payment through Dodo Payments you get a licence key and a download.

Is there a free version?

Yes, for JSON only: JSON MCP Lite is free and MIT-licensed on GitHub. It does not include the OpenAPI, HTTP, API-key or rate-limit parts.
